Djalma Santos, a former professional footballer of Brazil side, was born in São Paulo, Brazil on Feb. 27, 1929. He started his professional playing career from Portuguesa in Brazil. After transferred to Palmeiras, Djalma Santos participated near 500 matches for the club, winning numerous goals and titles for the club. From 1952 to 1968, Santos represented the Brazil side for 98 times, playing four consecutive World Cups in Brazil football shirt.
For brilliant achievements, outstanding practical skills and competitive techniques on football fields, he was widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of his generation, affecting the development of Brazil football industry. Known for competitive defensive skill, consistency, practical attacking skill and impressive technique, he, along with Franz Beckenbauer and Philipp Lahm, was inducted into the FIFA World Cup All Star teams in 1954, 1958 and 1962. In 2004, he was listed at the top 125 greatest living footballers, leaving a deep impression to people from all over the world.
